Have you ever considered picking up a new hobby? I certainly have, and for me, that hobby was learning to crochet. Although it might seem a bit “old school,” crocheting is experiencing a resurgence with fresh and creative projects. This is no longer the typical “grandma’s crochet.”
As a left-handed person, I found it challenging to find someone to teach me, so I turned to YouTube. There, I discovered a wealth of excellent tutorials for crocheting—and even knitting, if you’re interested. Within just two to three days, I had mastered some basic stitches, and exploring more advanced ones has been an enjoyable experience.
Creating this hat and headband was a lot of fun, especially since I used only the half-double crochet and single crochet stitches. The tutorials I followed came from the GoodKnitKisses YouTube channel (youtube.com/@GoodKnitKisses). She offers detailed, close-up videos catering to both right- and left-handed crocheters, along with many other helpful lessons.
These Christmas balls were crocheted onto a glass ornament. I’ll be sharing in a future post/YouTube video on how I did this and more of my crocheting journey on my own YouTube channel, so feel free to join me as I explore the art of crocheting!
